Course overview - Study Period 5 and 6
During the first half of the study period 5, learners finish looking at Unit 5 Fundamentals of Algorithms. A more challenging unit of work that involves understanding sequences and how a computer program is an implementation of an algorithm and that an algorithm is not a computer program. Learners then start to prepare revision resources for their C9 End of Year exams.
The second half of term, study period 6 will allow learners to start their journey learning Python programming language. Python is a textual programming language used to solve a variety of computational problems. Learners will understand how to use Python IDLE and run a Python program, use Python to perform calculations and write simple programs that respond to user input.
