Course overview - Study Period 3 and 4
During the first half term, study period 5, learners will finish the Unit “Business in the Real World” with learning sessions teaching exam technique, revision methods and revisiting the content taught last term. In the middle of May, learners will commence studying their third unit of work “Human Resources”. Before half-term, learners will understand the Recruitment and selection process that businesses undertake and also how employers motivate and retain staff as well as understanding financial and non-financial rewards in the workplace.
During the second half term, study period 6, learners will continue with the Unit “Human Resources”. Topics covered include organisational structures, centralisation and decentralisation and communication. Learners will also experience two enrichment learning sessions looking at Reggae Reggae, and the business Primark. To complete the Unit of work, learners will complete a Case Study, before revision and end of year C9 summative assessments as well as an end of unit assessment.

Guidance:
