Course overview - Study Period 1 and 2
During the first half term - Learners will be introduced to Topic Area 4: Protecting service users and service providers in health and social care settings with a focus on 4.1: Safeguarding. Learners will explore the individuals that may need safeguarding when accessing health and social care services and how these measures are put in place.
During the second half term - Learners will continue exploring topic area 4 but will now be focusing on 4.2: Infection prevention and 4.3: Safety procedures and measures. As part of this unit of work learners must carry out their own risk assessment of an existing health and social care setting, identifying any hazards and how these will be minimised.
