Course overview - Study Period 1 and 2
During the first half term -Understand a brief history of Spanish life, culture and geography. Be able to master pronunciation to enable simple greetings conversations. Be able to say and ask when your birthday is, where you are from and where you live, describe yourself, your family, your pets and your house.
During the second study period - Be able to describe school, sports, hobbies, TV and film, food and drink, weather and town and time. Use the particular verbs of ver, jugar, practicar and hacer together with different time phrases to say when you do something or watch something. Learners will be able to give simple opinions using me gusta etc both with nouns and the infinitive verbs. Learners will learn weather terms and appropriate synonyms and be able to discuss their food and drink preferences.

Written Assessment to be marked formally and written feedback provided
A reading & listening assessment
Guidance:
Learners will receive guidance in a variety of ways. These include marked assessments, including feedback in books, 1:1 interaction, vocabulary tests, self & peer assessments of inc class tasks
