4A Class Teacher

Hello, everyone! I’m Miss Carmen. Last year, I was the class teacher of G1C and I taught G1, 3 and 6 students English. This year, I teach G1, 4 and 6.

During my leisure time, I love reading English books, watching movies and cooking. It is great to learn something new every day. I can’t wait to meet all the students in A-School in the next academic year!

4B Class Teacher

Hi! Everyone. I am Ms. Eli Yeung. I teach grade 3, 4 and 5 this year.

Mathematics has been my favourite subject since I was very young. The truth is Maths is fun! It's a kind of stress buster for me as I like solving Sudoku even if it's in nightmare level, which may occupy me 30 minutes. It's also so important in our lives. Everyone, from a child to a mathematician, is practicing Mathematics everyday. Can we live without Maths? Absolutely no. Mathematics seems just the only language which is common for all human beings in the world. We all use it everyday. Well, that's why Maths is practical. How can you divide a big birthday cake among 8 people evenly? Or, an item you want to buy is marked as "buy 4 get 1 free" at shop A. Meanwhile, it is 25% off at shop B. Where would you choose to buy it? And then you learn Maths is practical significant. It sharpens our skills and makes us quicker. So let's learn Maths actively this year. You may gain a lot that’s out of your expectation!

Hellllo thereeee all A-School parents & students,

I'm Ms Alice Lam - the class and English teacher of 4B. I will also be teaching G3 and 6C English!

It's my GREATEST pleasure to be back! Back? Yes, that's right! I was once an English teacher here at A-School from 2010-2016. However, I went for further studies in Brisbane, Australia. I also helped to substitute for another English teacher a few years ago and now, I'm officially back as a full-time English teacher again and have taken up a new challenge as one of the English Assistant Panel Heads. It feels like I've never left but then again, I also feel that I'm still new.

Moreover, it's indeed <<THE BEST>> to be working with a group of wonderful English teachers again and even ***MORE AWESOME*** to be teaching the A+ students here in A-School! I'm really looking forward to an exciting journey ahead, filled with laughter and joy that I hope I will bringing to everyone in the A-School family!

Although the only students who still know me would probably be the G6s as I had taught most of them in G1 and a short period in G3, I will continue to show my love-care-support to all my new students and hoping we will build a special bond over time. Even if I may not be your English teacher, I will still be more than happy to know each and every one of you.

Let's all get ready to BLAST OFF to a spectacular & adventurous school year 2020-2021!

This is a more recent picture of me taken in December 2019 in Dubai where I did my first "henna" (the drawing on my hand)!

It's such an interesting piece of art & famous in different cultures :)

Those who know me well, and you can probably guess from the picture, that my favourite colour is... PURPLE!

Sometimes I'm even being called "Ms Purple"=P

I'm a HUGE fan of outdoor *SPORTS* and this is one of them called "Softball". I've loved it since I was small in Canada!

It's not common in Hong Kong, but I'm glad I had the chance to join a team here to be a "pitcher"!

Interested? Feel free to come and find me!

This is another of my favourite - cycling and this is a race I did a few years ago in Hong Kong.

The BIGGEST challenge I ever faced was a 100km cycling race, which I completed in 5 hrs 15 mins in Brisbane, Australia (2018)!

What's yours?

4C Class Teacher

Hello everyone! I am Miss Jocelyn Tam. I am the class teacher of 4C. I will be teaching G1, G4 and G5 Mathematics this year.

I think Mathematics is not only a subject. It is a language. And why is Mathematics so important to us? It is related to our daily life. We use it every day, like timing, shopping. We use Mathematics to count time and money we pay. Mathematics is all around us! Some people think Mathematics is scary. I hope I can raise my students’ interest in Mathematics.

Hi everyone! I am Miss Annie Lam. This year, I am going to be the Chinese teacher for Grades 2, 4 and 5.

I always questioned what qualities would make a teacher ‘the teacher for all ages’ like Confucius. I agree a teacher should hold a Confucian view, that is to guide gently and be student-oriented. I want to share generously, to lead and inspire, without discrimination. Laying seeds in each individual and waiting for them to blossom, this is what I would like to do. 🌻

I can’t wait to see all of you on campus! I am sure we are going to have a memorable year! 😘

Hello everyone! This is Miss June Chiu, a new teacher in A-school! I am one of the class teachers of 4D and I teach Mathematics to Grade 1, Grade 4 and Grade 6 – well I am sure Mathematics is your favourite subject 😉

I love to travel to different countries. It is wonderful to meet people from different backgrounds, understand their unique culture, try the local food and of course to do some sightseeing. Did you know that Mathematics is all around you, even when you are travelling? Look at the amazing architecture and the symmetrical pattern of this mosque – all of which are mathematically related! What needs to be done to the photo to make it perfectly symmetrical? Can you draw the line of symmetry? I hope all of you would appreciate the beauty of math!

What about you? What do you like to do in your leisure time? Do say hi to me when you are on campus and tell me all about yourself! I cannot wait to see your lovely face :)

4E Class Teacher

Welcome back to A-School. This is Ms Priscilla here. I am the class teacher of 4E and will be teaching math in Grade 1, 4, 5 and 6 Acceleration.

My hope for this year is to support students to enjoy math and feel that it is approachable. I believe math skills and interest can be cultivated with training and determination. When I was a secondary student, I used to get a free newspaper and crack a sudoku puzzle daily on my way to school.

Math is Fun! Just like building blocks, tangrams can teach kids about spatial relationships. They may help kids learn geometric terms and develop stronger problem solving skills. They might even help children perform better in general mathematics. When we play with tans, we consider the shapes from a variety of angles and perspectives. How would the shapes look if we stuck them together? Rotated them? Slide them around into different positions?

How do you make a swan from tangram shapes? Try drawing lines in the swan below to show your answer.

Hey, boys and girls! This is Ms. Pinky, this is going to be my third-year teaching grade 2, 3 and 4 in A-school. I truly indulged with the energetic vibe here! Just for you to know, I am a great fan of pastel colors, so if you see someone who often dresses in pastel color around the campus, it’s probably me.

My specialty is drama education, so be ready for some drama elements in the lessons if time allows. If you are going to be in my class, do speak up and let your imagination fly high!

“Do what you love and follow your passion” is currently a motto that keeps me motivated these days. Regardless of the uncontrollable Coronavirus, do try to make good use of the time we have to enjoy the most of our lives with family, or even better, to equip ourselves with various skills. Reading, for example, would be a fabulous way to enhance your language skills while you stay indoor mostly, you can also share what you have learnt among your friends or with me!
