Policy Highlight | School Closure/Early Release/Delayed Opening
The Head of School or approved designee of The Collegiate School of Memphis will make a decision as to whether or not the school building will close in the event of snow, ice, inclement weather, or other conditions. Depending on the circumstances, classes and work may continue virtually. All school closure information will be communicated via email, Talking Points, and/or our school social media accounts. CSM will make all school closure decisions independent of other local schools. Unless communicated otherwise, the school is open on all scheduled days.

ESA 26-27 Applications | February 3rd
The Education Savings Account Scholarship (ESA) application opens Tuesday February 3rd, 2026 at 12pm. All Families at CSM are required to apply for the state scholarship before they are eligible to apply for the CSM scholarship. It is crucial that you apply online as soon as it opens Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 at 12pm. Below are the required documents that you will need in order to complete the ESA application through the state portal as well as a flyer with the images of the type of documents needed.We will host an ESA application assistance session on February 3rd, at 11:30am here at The Collegiate School of Memphis. Feel free to come join us for assistance applying. If you plan on attending you must bring all required documents with you in order to complete the application in a timely manner. Please remember that this is a mandatory application and you must apply as soon as the portal opens.

Merit Madness Wednesday, February 4
Students who have earned a "Merit Madness" t-shirt during the '25-'26 school year are permitted to wear their Merit Madness t-shirt with their uniform-compliant pants/skirt and shoes.

CSM Scholars, get ready to bundle up! Wednesday, January 29, is a Cozy Sweater Day. For just $1, you can wear your favorite cozy sweater. Participants can wear a cozy shirt or sweatshirt with their CSM-compliant pants/skirt and shoes. All proceeds will go toward the Middle School Girls’ Soccer Team. Show your school spirit, stay comfy, and support our athletes—don’t forget to bring your $1!
Soul Fest Is Coming Soon! February 12th
We’re excited to announce that Soul Fest is right around the corner, and we’re looking forward to celebrating together as a school community! To make this event a success, we are seeking parent involvement in a variety of ways—from decorations to bringing in food and helping with setup.
A sign-up sheet will be available next week, so please keep an eye out for more details. Your support and participation will help make Soul Fest an unforgettable event for our scholars and families!
CSM Re Enrollment Contracts 2026-27
Greetings, CSM Families.
It is time to begin the student enrollment process for the 2026-2027 school year. Please read the attached letter thoroughly.
All current CSM students have been issued a 2026-2027 Enrollment Contract including a scholarship award based on information currently on file. Beginning Monday, January 12, 2026, parents are asked to come into the Business Office to review their contract, accept their scholarship, and pay their enrollment deposit in order to secure their child's enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year. The enrollment deposit for middle school is $80 and $100 for high school. Parents who complete this process before February 9, 2026 will receive a $20 discount on their enrollment deposit.
Families who participate in the Education Savings Account (ESA) or Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) state scholarship program, must complete their application through the state every year. EFS applications for the 2027-26 school year open on January 13th and ESA renewal applications for the 2027-2026 school year open February 3, 2025. Mr. Moya will work with eligible families to complete this process.
Families who are applying for external scholarships (MOST, EFS, and/or ESA) must submit their 2024 or 2025 taxes along with their online application. If applying for additional scholarship through the school (Cougar Assistance), families must submit their 2025 taxes and other financial documents to the Business Office. Tax documents can be submitted in person in the Business Office or via email to finance@collegiatememphis.org. Be sure to include your student’s name in all email communication.
High school students must have a signed enrollment contract on file before they are able to register for their 2026-2027 high school courses beginning in Quarter 4. Any student who does not have a signed 2026-2027 Enrollment Contract on file by March 23, 2026 will be removed from the class rosters and their CSM scholarship award will be reallocated to new CSM students.

Federal & State Public Safety Officials
We want to acknowledge the multi-agency initiative currently taking place in the Memphis community involving members of the National Guard, Highway Patrol Officers, and agents from multiple federal agencies. We understand that the presence of additional law enforcement agents in our city may feel unsettling for families.
The City of Memphis has created a webpage with information about the goals of this federal action, as well as guidance for families. In addition, Latino Memphis has resources on their website with suggestions on what to do if approached by a federal agent.
At Collegiate, our highest priority remains the safety and well-being of our students. As stated in our Family Handbook: “As an independent school, our entire campus is private property. Government agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers do not have access to our campus or our students while they are on our campus without a proper federal judicial warrant.” (Family Handbook, p. 21). Additional information about Collegiate’s Student Safety and Privacy Policy is available upon request in the Business Office.
We also recognize that events in the wider community can create feelings of worry or stress. Our School Counselor, Ms. Tate, is available to provide support for students who may need someone to talk to. Families are encouraged to reach out to Ms. Tate at ttate@collegiatememphis.org if their child would benefit from additional care. 2025-2026 School Calendar
As you are considering traveling out of town and making appointments during the 2024-2025 school year, please plan around our school calendar. It is important that students do not miss school for appointments and travel. Absences during first and second semester exam weeks will not be excused.
Please note the dates for Spring Break 2026 have been updated on the Academic Calendar to match M-SCS. Spring Break 2026 is March 16 - 20, 2026.
