Federal & State Public Safety Officials
We want to acknowledge the multi-agency initiative currently taking place in the Memphis community involving members of the National Guard, Highway Patrol Officers, and agents from multiple federal agencies. We understand that the presence of additional law enforcement agents in our city may feel unsettling for families.
The City of Memphis has created a webpage with information about the goals of this federal action, as well as guidance for families. In addition, Latino Memphis has resources on their website with suggestions on what to do if approached by a federal agent.
At Collegiate, our highest priority remains the safety and well-being of our students. As stated in our Family Handbook: “As an independent school, our entire campus is private property. Government agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers do not have access to our campus or our students while they are on our campus without a proper federal judicial warrant.” (Family Handbook, p. 21). Additional information about Collegiate’s Student Safety and Privacy Policy is available upon request in the Business Office.
We also recognize that events in the wider community can create feelings of worry or stress. Our School Counselor, Ms. Tate, is available to provide support for students who may need someone to talk to. Families are encouraged to reach out to Ms. Tate at ttate@collegiatememphis.org if their child would benefit from additional care. Mr. Moya, CSM Family Engagement Specialist, is also available to support families as needed. Families can reach Mr. Moya at smoya@collegiatememphis.org.
Policy Highlight | Arrival, Tardiness, Checkout, & Dismissal
The regular school day schedule will run from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30- or 35-minute lunch period. Students will enter and leave the building using the front lobby entrance (Faxon Avenue entrance). Prior to 7:45 a.m., students may be dropped off in the front of the school; however, school doors will not be opened or unlocked until 7:45 a.m. This schedule provides 6.75 instructional contact hours daily. After-school clubs, activities, and tutoring will be scheduled on designated days beginning at 3:40 p.m. Students are encouraged to arrive at school at 7:45 a.m. for the opening of school and in order to have plenty of time to prepare for their day and to eat breakfast as needed.
At 8:15 a.m., a parent must accompany their student into the building using the Faxon Avenue/front lobby entrance to sign him/her in and complete the tardy information. For the safety of our scholars, all students must be picked up by 4:00 p.m. unless involved with a school-sanctioned activity.
In the event of an emergency with your student, Collegiate contacts parents before contacting other individuals listed on the “Emergency Contact and Student Pickup/Checkout Authorization” form as submitted at the beginning of the school year. Emergency contacts are also considered authorized for student pickup and checkout. Regardless of whether an individual is a parent/guardian, an emergency contact, or has pickup/checkout authorization only, all individuals must show photo identification before being allowed to check out any CSM scholar. The Collegiate School of Memphis will not, under any circumstances, release a student to any person who smells of or appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Unexcused checkouts during the last class period for middle school or last block class for high school will be calculated as a missed class. For the smooth operation of our school day and to minimize classroom disruptions, early student pickups must be completed before 3:00 PM. Early pickups are not permitted after 3:00 PM.
No School | Fall Break October 13 – 17, 2025
CSM Families, please note that there will be no school from Monday, October 13 through Friday, October 17, 2025 for Fall Break. Classes will resume on Monday, October 20. We hope you enjoy a restful and safe break!

Students and employees are invited to participate in this fundraiser for the National Art Honor Society. Sales end Wednesday, October 29.

Student may wear any CSM-issued shirt or sweatshirt from any year in lieu of their CSM uniform shirt with their uniform-compliant pants/skirt and shoes.

Students who pay $1 can participate in this fundraiser for the high school boys basketball team. Participants can wear a jersey with their CSM uniform compliant pants or skirt and shoes.
Core Value of the Month for October | Integrity
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Intelligence plus character is the goal of true education.” At Collegiate, community members are expected to be honest and truthful, to advocate for their peers, and to consistently act in a way that is uplifting, dependable, and trustworthy. Doing the right thing even when no one is watching is the Collegiate Way. Academic integrity is required for all scholars, and they will take pride in their work and their efforts. More importantly, everyone at Collegiate is encouraged to find their internal purpose and drive to become more Christ-like. We believe integrity is developed by God’s grace within each person through a strong foundation in scripture, accountability for their choices, and restoration when needed. With the support of one another and the Holy Spirit, our actions are able to be a true reflection of who we are and who God desires us to be.
2025-2026 School Calendar
As you are considering traveling out of town and making appointments during the 2024-2025 school year, please plan around our school calendar. It is important that students do not miss school for appointments and travel. Absences during first and second semester exam weeks will not be excused.
Please note the dates for Spring Break 2026 have been updated on the Academic Calendar to match M-SCS. Spring Break 2026 is March 16 - 20, 2026.
