School Picture Day | Monday August 19, 2025
On Monday, August 19th, students will be taking their school pictures. Please ensure your child comes dressed in their chapel uniform and ready to smile! We want every student to look their best for a fantastic start to the school year. Monday, we will send envelopes home in case you would like to purchase copies of the pictures. The money and envelopes with be due by Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Important Reminder: Dismissal Procedures
The safety of our students and families during dismissal is our top priority and we ask all parents and students to be patient during the dismissal process at the start of the school year. Parents are able to pick up students on the north and south sides of Faxon Avenue, along the parking lane of National St. and in the parking lot off of National St. behind the Avenue Community Church as described in the image. The center lanes on Faxon Avenue are driving lanes; do not park or pick up students in the driving lanes. Parents are expected to follow all traffic rules and school procedures when picking up your child. Double-parking, blocking driveways, or stopping in undesignated areas creates safety hazards and delays for others.
To help keep dismissal safe and efficient:
Use designated pick up areas and follow staff and security directions.
Remain in your vehicle when in the pickup line.
Avoid double-parking or blocking other cars.
Drive slowly and watch for students crossing.
Thank you for working with us to make sure every student gets home safely.
Uniform Store Hours
The Uniform Store is open before and after school for all your uniform needs. If you need to visit during school hours, you must contact Ms. Alvarado to arrange an appointment. Thank you for following these guidelines so we can serve all families efficiently.
Attendance Policy
As an academically rigorous college-preparatory school, we are committed to keeping students engaged in quality instruction for the entire school day, and we strongly discourage them from missing any classes. Collegiate’s school calendar is available on CSM’s website—please review it when scheduling events or appointments so these can be arranged during student holidays, after school hours, or on one of our teacher in-service days. Students should not be taken out of school unless it is an emergency. Consistent attendance is essential for preparing scholars for college success, so they should be in school every day, all day. We take exam weeks seriously, and students should not be absent during these times. For more details, please review the full attendance policy in the Family Handbook (page 12) so we can work together to ensure every scholar is set up for success.

Important Notice: 7th Grade Vaccination Requirements
Parents
The Tennessee Department of Education requires that all schools comply with the requirement of T.C.A. §49-6-5001 that each child in the school be vaccinated against disease. The Collegiate School of Memphis is complying to and following Tennessee state government regulations but also wants to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff of Collegiate.
7th grade students at Collegiate:
The requirement of the Tennessee Department of Health states that all students entering 7th grade must provide proof of:
Hepatitis B vaccine
Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis booster ("Tdap")
Verification of immunity to varicella (2 doses or history of disease)
Proof of vaccinations on the Tennessee Department of Health CERTIFICATE OF IMMUNIZATION form is required for all 7 graders, and the Complete 7th Grade or Higher box must be checked. This form is available from your student's personal physician or from the health department.
Students not in compliance/who have not provided the indicated immunization documentation by Friday, October 3, 2025, will not be allowed to attend school-physically or virtually - and all computer accounts will be suspended until the form is provided. Any school days missed due to non-compliance will be unexcused.

National School Lunch Program - Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)
The Collegiate School of Memphis today announced its policy for free and reduced-price meals for children served in schools under the National School Lunch Program and/or School Breakfast Program. For School Year 202-2026 will continue participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). No further action is required of you.
This USDA provision allows your child(ren) to participate in the school meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.CEP is a key provision of the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, which allows schools and school districts in low-income areas to eliminate school meal applications and serve breakfast and lunch at no charge to all enrolled students.
CEP gives food service professionals more time to focus on preparing nutritious meals that their students will enjoy and gives students more time to eat those meals by cutting down on time spent in the lunch line. More importantly, by offering all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, CEP helps ensure more students come to class well-nourished and ready to learn.
Children need healthy meals to learn. The Collegiate School of Memphis offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast and lunch meals will follow the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines for healthy school meals, so please encourage students to participate. “In the operation of child feeding programs, no child will be discriminated against because of race, sex, color, national origin, age or disability.”

2025-2026 School Calendar
As you are considering traveling out of town and making appointments during the 2024-2025 school year, please plan around our school calendar. It is important that students do not miss school for appointments and travel. Absences during first and second semester exam weeks will not be excused.
Please note the dates for Spring Break 2026 have been updated on the Academic Calendar to match M-SCS. Spring Break 2026 is March 16 - 20, 2026.
