SAGA: WE CALLED THE SENATOR!
Bedford is thinking about changing the school start times in the future. Students will receive a survey to give their opinions. Some students think it's a good idea because we'd get more sleep and could be more rested during the school day, but other students don't want to start earlier because it will cut into their afternoon free time and sports/activities could also be affected.
There are many field trips coming up for the end of the school year. In 8th grade, students are are going to Washington, DC from May 27-30. Students not going to DC will go on local field trips. There is also a field trip to Canobie Lake Park on June 17.
7th-graders are going to Kimball Farm in Westford this spring, and 6th-graders are going to Level 99. It's going to be so much fun!
The art show took place May 2-4 and will showcase sculptures, paintings, collages, drawings, and more! The teachers are trying to include a piece of art from every student in the district!
JGMS had its last spring social filled with games, dancing and prizes. Some students from Hanscom Airforce Base joined as well and it was really fun! Thank you to all of the staff who helped organize, set up, and run the party.
Next fall, the student council will be hosting a clubs and activities fair so that students can see club offerings and get information for all of the cool clubs that JGMS students could consider joining. Stay tuned for more info!
This question (right) has baffled, bewildered, and befuddled everyone. Finally, we have the answer, straight from the question maker's brain:

SAGA: BREAKING NEWS! WE MANAGED TO CALL THE SENATOR!
On May 5th, SAGA (Sexuality and gender alliance) was just chilling in the room which they meet in and all of a sudden, one of our members suggested we call the US government. So we called the US government, and they hung up on us. So Mrs TW walks in on us being hung up on and asked what was happening, we told her all of what had happened and she suggests we call the senator, Ken Gordon, the senator/representative of Bedford and so we get his number online from Google (props to Google for actually having it) and so we called him and his secretary answered. We talked about how we are worried about our rights and how it shouldn't be taken away, the woman was very patient with us and told us that she'd tell him when he has free time. We hang up and the classroom of people bursts into cheers, even though I only said one word I was proud of what we'd done. - From a student's point of view.
