In January, Justice Stephen Breyer announced that he would be retiring when the 2021 Supreme Court term ends. As a result, President Joe Biden was able to nominate a new justice to the court, and he chose Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Chosen for pleasing the most interest group and having the proper qualifications, she will be the first black woman to be a justice. She went to Harvard for both her undergraduate degree and for law school and previously served as a judge for the appellate court. She is highly qualified and was nominated in February of 2022.
