Book Review: The Clean Getaway
In the book “The Clean Getaway” by Nic Stone, the characters go on a road trip in an RV. Scoob and his grandma (referred to G’ma, in the book) face problems of cultural difference because Scoob is black and his grandma is white. While on their trip Scoob is learning about a whole new side of his G’ma. This causes Scoob to start asking questions about why his G’ma
was doing the things she did. For example, the twist caused me to ask a lot of questions as Scoob did to his g’ma. I am pretty sure people who like big twists and turns in their books will certainly love this book. This book is challenging. This book really got me when Scoob discovered the new side of his G’ma because he found out something that you would have never thought at the start of the book. Now, wrapping things up in the book, Scoob finally spots a WHOLE different spot to his father. He finds him to be careful and more loving than he thought. Even though Scoob is happy with his father after a long trip, he still can not see his G’ma until a very very, very, very long time.
