JGMS Soccer Teams
(And an interview with the players)
By Andrew Majnoun and Ansel Chiou
This years soccer teams (boys and girls) have been doing pretty well so far, with the boys team being 5-0 and the girls being 5-1-1. These teams are both excellent and JGMS is proud to have them as their soccer teams.
We have made a list of questions and have asked the team members of the boys soccer team to answer them.
Q: What is your training schedule like?
A: I practice for school soccer Mon-Fri and practice for town soccer Tuesday and Friday. Also games on Saturday for Town and Games all over the week for School Soccer. During summer I train with a coach for the upcoming season. Aiden Green (goalie)
Q: What are your strengths and what do you like about soccer?
A: Being able to pass accurately is in my kit
My favorite trick is the 1 foundation
I play as a winger and my job is to advance the ball up the field and then pass it into the middle.
I like playing soccer because of how it flows if that makes any sense.
We are good at passing and playing to each other's strengths.
Q: What does the team need to work on, and what makes playing on a team challenging?
We need to work on passing the ball before it gets stolen.
The most challenging part of playing as a team is gaining the confidence to communicate with your teammates.
Q: What advice would you give to people who want to play?
A; Focus on the basics if you wanna get into soccer
Play soccer everyday of the week and practice at home.
Q: What's in store for the future of the team?
A: We can definitely go 10-0. We have played every team in our division and we were able to beat them by at least 3.
