How is attendance taken for distance learning?

Attendance is taken through participation in coursework and collection of student work samples In the hybrid model. daily attendance is taken at the school site for traditional school.

Examples of hybrid learning attendance are:

*Turning in a Unit to your teacher.

*Email communication

*Text communication about subject matter

*Google Hangout conference

*Google Meet conference

*Google Classroom answer to course work or assignment

Important: You may be working hard at home, but if you do not reach out to your teacher then participation for attendance may not be taken! Please communicate with your teacher regularly everyday to show progress!

Netiquette for Google Meet and Zoom Meetings:

      1. Be on time

      2. Be present

      3. Mute yourself

      4. Type appropriate comments in chat

Student Attendance in the “At-Home” Learning Model

In preparation for the start of school on August 10, we wanted to share the update about how attendance will be taken in the “At-Home” Learning model:

  • Attendance will be taken during each scheduled live class by the teacher each day.

  • Students who do not log in to the class period will be marked as absent.

  • Parents will be notified of any absence via the auto-dialer.

  • After 3 absences in a school week, the school staff will contact families to develop a plan to assist students in attending regularly.

  • Student progress will be made available on PowerSchool.


Student Requirements & Expectations

While participating in the "At-Home" Learning model, students are required to:

  • attend all virtual sessions by period (see attached calendar)

  • check all Google Classrooms on a daily basis for class and assignment information

  • submit all assignments in a timely manner
