What is Peak Performance?
Peak Performance is a cutting-edge athletic program provided through Elite
Academic Academy, a public charter school, that is specially designed to help
student-athletes level up their performance and prepare for a future in collegiate
athletics and beyond. Students enrolled in Peak Performance's five-week program
complete ten credits of A-G coursework focused on the connection between mind,
body, and top athletic performance while training with their AVHSD coach. We are
excited to partner with Antelope Valley Union High School District coaches to bring
this program to life at your school!.
Students who participate:
develop critical skills needed to overcome life's obstacles, align their habits
with their goals, and explore career paths within sports disciplines through the
use of Elite-designed and Ambassadors of Compassion curriculum.
use Whoop wearable technology to measure their recovery, strain, and
optimize their peak performance.
receive guidance in the areas of testing, training, and recruitment.
curate high-quality content to incorporate into their athletic portfolio for
college recruitment.
What are the expectations of this program?
Students enrolled in Peak Performance are expected to work daily in their
academic courses Monday-Saturday. In addition to training with their coach, they
will be paired with a credentialed Teacher of Record who will monitor their
academic progress, check-in weekly, and provide support.
How many classes will a student take? Students will take two five-week long courses starting July
1st.
Are you a summer school? No, we are a year-round school and offer the same level of rigor as a
traditional high school all 12 months of the calendar year.
What types of support will students receive? Along with the students AVHSD coach, all students
are paired with an Elite Academic Academy Teacher of Record (TOR) and engagement coach who
provide ongoing individualized support as students complete their courses. Peak Performance students
receive athletic training and guidance in developing a competitive athletic portfolio.
Our students struggled virtually during COVID. What can I expect at Elite? Elite Academic Academy has spent years refining the art of remote learning and providing a personalized approach to
education. Students will work Monday-Saturday in their courses, receiving academic support through
learning labs throughout the week. Each student is also paired with a Teacher of Record (TOR) and
engagement coach to help guide and support them through their academic journey.
What if my student is a special education student who has an IEP? Elite Academic Academy is a
public school and MUST follow IDIEA law. Students with IEPs who enroll MUST participate in a 30-day
transition IEP and ensure FAPE is received while with us. We will work with the family and school site to
ensure a seamless transition at the end of the Level Up learning period.
How do I request my transcripts from Elite’s Peak Performance program? Parents/ students can
request an official transcript through our website. Transcripts will be mailed directly to the home or to
the next school the student will be attending per parent request.
