A very special program at the Pittaway EDP is the 6th Grade Volunteers.  Throughout the school year, the 6th graders from the Mindess EDP come over to our program and help out with the younger students.  

The Kindergarten students LOVE having their "big kid friends" over.  Recess is super fun, especially when the 6th graders begin a game of tag.  The 6th graders eat snack with our kiddos and sit on the rug at story time.  Once in a while, a 6th grader will volunteer to read that day's story.  Project and Gym Sessions are a great time for the 6th graders to help out, and they like to do the project too!   

For us teachers, the best part is having the 6th graders come back home.  We've had many of these volunteers as Kindergarten students!  It's so nice to see them again back at the Pittaway EDP, and it's remarkable how they look exactly the same as they did all those years ago!
