"The fondest memories are made gathered around the table...." The annual 6th Grade Cooking Club Dinner was held Thursday night and attended by all of the participants' parents and siblings. Everyone enjoyed the meal which consisted of baked chicken, twice baked potatoes, roasted carrots, garden salad, and chocolate mousse in graham cracker crusts. The 6th graders began cooking at 3:30 and were ready to serve by the time the guests arrived at 6:00. Throughout the 4-week program the 6th graders worked on cleanliness, safety, knife skills, following a recipe, timing, measuring accurately, doubling and halving a recipe, learning to crack eggs, using a griddle, hand mixer, and other kitchen tools, and teamwork. At the end of the evening, all of the students were encouraged to continue their culinary journey and were given a copy of Williams-Sonoma "Cookbook for Kids"
