Baking Bonanza!

Warren EDP students have been busy learning about the science of baking!  Last week they learned how to properly use a mixer,  measuring cups and spoons, and a whisk.  They were able to "whip up" some Monkey Bread, Snicker doodles and pretzels.   The children also observed chemical reactions with ingredients as well as the important roles that yeast and baking soda have in baking.   This week the focus was on using fruit in the baking process, namely apples-perfect for fall!  They enjoyed the challenge of learning how to peel apples during the Baked Apples activity.  The best part?  Getting to taste everything!
