On the Early Release Day of Friday, April 8th the Warren and Mindess Extended Day Programs joined together for a field trip to visit our neighbors at Framingham High School for the award winning performance of Sideways Stories From Wayside School as part of our enrichment programming. How inspiring for these children in grades 1 - 6 to have the unique opportunity to see live theater of a professional caliber performed by other students! The fact that many of them have enjoyed reading the series only added to the cross-curriculum appeal. Following the amazing show, the cast came out for a meet and greet and Q & A session. Questions included, "How long ago did you begin preparing for the show?", "Are there any performers who play more than one character?", and "How many people does it take to operate the 'creature?" At the conclusion of the Q & A session, everyone was invited on stage for a group photo, and an impromptu dance jam to Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), which turned out to be the cherry on top. Thank you Ms. Donna, Mr. Chris, and the entire cast and crew of Sideways Stories From Wayside School. Good luck at the New England Drama Festival!
