Maths Curriculum Intent
To provide a highly engaging and challenging maths curriculum that encourages our students to be ambitious and successful mathematicians who are flexible, creative and resilient when problem solving. Through mathematics, children will have an appreciation and understanding of the wider world and be able to reason in order to tackle challenges - preparing them for a remarkable life.
Sequencing and Progression
The fifteen units in our maths curriculum build on prior learning evidenced in the medium term plans. Within a unit, lessons build up to achieve common goals as set out within planning. Core calculation skills are revisited and consolidated throughout each flow and are applied to a range of reasoning questions.

Representation in Maths
Our Noel Park representation progression map is a resource that allows parents to see how maths is taught at each stage of the curriculum. It shows how we use representation to support the children's understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions as they move from reception to Year 6.
