Q: How do I make money on your platform?
A: Well, Linkedin also offers a paid membership called Premium that costs $30-75 per month. This service gives you the ability to see who is looking at you in more detail, shares information on how your resume would stack up against other candidates, and thus allows you to prioritize which companies you have the best chance and desire to work at.
AdvisoryCloud membership gives you all of the tools to be more successful but of course we cannot guarantee you a job. Our membership is similar, but with higher level professionals tools and visibility, and tips and tricks under your membership dashboard to help you market yourself in a way to give you the most visibility for others to reach out to you.
Q: How many members are getting equity or paid work and how soon do they typically start getting it?
A: I do want to be clear - we are not a placement firm. Our value proposition is getting you on 1 or more advisory boards immediately upon joining.
Success outside of our Advisory Board program is unique to every member. A large portion of our members join for the great branding and career advancement through our Advisory Board Program.
Q: When should I expect to see traction on paid work?
A: Paid work through your own network relies on how you use our marketing tools to position yourself as a thought leader in your industry - and if you drive traffic to your advisor profile for scheduling and payment, like many of the consultants on the platform do.
Everything we’re set up to do is to allow you to get as much exposure as possible and to accelerate you connecting with higher level advisory board opportunities.
Q: When do I start seeing my ROI?
A: Monetary return on investment will always be unique to every member - so giving a blanket average on … would be misleading:
Paid work through the Advisor Directory relies on what companies are searching for advisors at any given time.

Q: I've never heard of being able to be placed on a board this way, doesn't the company normally choose the executives?
A: I understand this is new to you, what we are doing is very groundbreaking and we are disrupting the industry. As part of working with AdvisoryCloud these companies are giving us the power to assemble their boards, and this is something we have a lot of experience with.
Q: How many companies are in your Advisory Board Program?
A: We have hundreds of companies in our AB program, and at the moment dozens of them are actively building boards, and we're adding new companies every day. So let's get you registered and immediately on 1 to an unlimited number of boards immediately.
Q: What are some of the ways your members are helping these companies?
A: Our advisors have helped companies get funding, close new customers, launch new products, make key hires, assist in long-term planning and more.
Q: Why would I pay for this? What is the benefit to joining an uncompensated Advisory Board if I am not getting paid?
A: Joining an uncompensated Advisory Board is key to your professional development and building out your Advisor portfolio and network - being a member of AdvisoryCloud provides you with growth opportunities, and our technology tools to keep you relevant from a digital perspective. Through our platform, you’ll be able to join an Advisory Board right away and add this to your new AdvisoryCloud public profile, and your LinkedIn - it's the way to distinguish yourself as a high level executive qualified to advise. The potential for paid work is an added benefit of joining our team of advisors. The main reason everyone is joining is to have full access to our advisory board program, bulk up your online presence and get you in front of companies looking for advisors exclusively through Advisory Cloud.
Q: When should I expect to start getting paid by these companies in your Advisory Board Program:
A: This all hinges on the strength of your Answers and Comments in the company's digital advisory board. If the CEO finds your insight worth tapping into on a more structured level, they can ask you to take a more active role in their company. At that point, they can pay you at your hourly rate or work out an equity arrangement. It would be hard to give you an accurate timeline for when to expect these arrangements - but startups often find that if they have budget, spending it on advisors for larger initiatives is one of the best ways to accelerate their growth.
Q: Are you charging companies to have access to your platform and Advisors?
A: Yes. Companies also have 3 membership options depending on their size and business needs - Startup for $2995, Growth for $5995 and Enterprise for $11,995.
Q: How many other Advisors are on these boards?
A: One of the unique features of our Advisory Boards is that companies can get input from so many executives. These boards can have up to 100 executives on them, and through our platform - we make it easy for the CEOs to keep all of the advisors involved and up to speed on new company initiatives to be able to get valuable feedback from their advisors on a quarterly basis.
Q: How do I make sure I don’t get lost in the group?
A: Not every board is going to be that large, 100 advisors is just the most we allow. Our platform makes it simple and easy for CEOs to connect with Advisors that are providing valuable insights. The best thing you can do is to make sure your answers and comments to the CEO are clear, concise, and show any additional ways you’d be able to provide value to the company through additional per-meeting, or project based work.
Q: What types of opportunities do you have?
A: We work across almost every industry, with company size ranging from startups to multi-million dollar companies. And again - your profile will be available publicly online - so any company or individual searching your name, your expertise, and anyone you share your profile with will be able to easily find and hire you through your profile.
Q: Where are the majority of the opportunities?
A: We’re not limited geographically because our platform is online. Our members are spread throughout the US and internationally. Similarly, we have opportunities from all over the world as well. I always suggest to members I work with to not let location limit their board search. Since the vast majority of meetings are held virtually, your location and the company’s location doesn't matter. You can just focus on helping companies that need your expertise and not be limited by geography.
Q: What if I don't want my Advisor profile to be public?
A: The most impactful benefit to being an AdvisoryCloud member is the public facing feature. Choosing to limit your exposure to only companies sourcing within the platform indicates you might not be an ideal fit for AdvisoryCloud. Keep in mind, having an AdvisoryCloud link on your LinkedIn page is a prestigious way to distinguish yourself as a qualified advisor to your entire professional network. It eliminates fruitless introductions and unknown interactions and instead creates a place for real and attainable advisory opportunities to take place.

A: You absolutely can - and you’ll see options to upgrade in the platform. You can also upgrade to a Premier Onboarding experience by sending an email to customerservice@advisorycloud.com
Q: What will it look like for people that Onboard themselves? Video? Step By Step?
A: Onboarding yourself is very simple, you’ll be able to go through step-by-step and build your profile one piece at a time. You’ll be guided through uploading your profile picture, writing your bio, adding skills and expertise tags - all through a simple interface on our platform.
Q: If I have a problem with Onboarding myself can I speak with someone to help me?
A: Our Member Services team is always available via email to assist in any way possible, and if you start on your own, but realize you want some more assistance, you can always purchase the premier onboarding experience later.
Q: How does my profile show up in online searches?
A: We optimize our advisor profiles so that search engines like Google and Bing can find them - and source them as search results. Most often members see these appearing in searches for their names, but they can also come up for searches specific to expertise.
Q: Can I have a reference?
A: We don’t offer direct references. Part of our value proposition revolves around saving our members time. With that said, we don’t feel it’s fair to ask them to field reference calls for us - I’m sure you can identify with your busy schedule.
Q: Can I start out with a Starter/Professional membership and upgrade to Professional/Premier later?
A: Yes, not a problem. You can upgrade any time you'd like. Your annual membership term will begin that date you update your membership.
Negative Reviews
Q: Can you explain the negative reviews about AdvisoryCloud?
A: We take every piece of feedback to heart, and address whatever we can in the spirit of continuous improvement. We've disrupted a traditional industry so some pushback is expected. We have a marketplace model similar to Air BNB, door dash, and Uber. If you dig up reviews on these companies, you'll see they've struggled with similar negative reviews.
Q: What's your BBB rating?
A: We currently have an A+ BBB rating that we're very proud of.
Q: If compensation occurs between me and a company in your program, how do I get paid?
A: Any compensation agreements will be between you and the company paying you.
