Needles Found in Strawberries

  First the needles were found in 2017 Halloween candies, and now they’re in strawberries. Strawberries from different Australian brands were found contaminated with needles,and leading to a man going to the hospital and another man getting arrested.. Consumers who bought these strawberries are advised to cut up the strawberries or throw it away, so they don’t accidentally consume the needle. Australia’s farming industry has been heavily damaged by this, in which companies are dumping and wasting billions of dollars worth of strawberries into landfill. Although a farmer has planned on using a metal detector to inspect strawberries. There have been at least 100 cases that report of contaminated strawberries (even mangoes, bananas, and apples have been contaminated with needles) since September 12, 2018.   The government plans to make it 15 years of jail for those who a guilty of contaminating the food. rime Minister, Scott Morrison said to news reporters. “You are putting the livelihoods of hard-working Australians at risk, and you are scaring children.” Some of the reports may have been caused by copycats inspired by the 1st strawberry incident, or are fake. The Australian government is giving 100,000 AUD (Which is 72,000 USD), to those who have information about who started or spread this costly incident. “I think it’s pretty unnecessary and a waste at how farmers are dumping out their strawberries, when there were actually only a few sightings of needle contamination.” said one of the many students of Marina.
