Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is an upcoming action-adventure film. This is based on the 2016 video game “Pokémon: Detective Pikachu”. It is also the first live-action film based on the Pokémon franchise. The Pokémon universe is based on fictional creatures that you can catch with something called a “Pokéball”. They collect Pokémon to battle in the original franchise. In this movie a boy called Tim Goodman comes across an intelligent Pokémon that seeks to become a detective. The boy can hear the Pokémon speak in English, but normal civilians can only hear it saying ¨Pika Pika¨.
In the trailer, the boy recently lost his dad in a car crash. The boy arrived home and met a “Detective Pikachu”. The boy’s father was a former Pokémon trainer, and he taught his son Tim about Pokémon. As a kid, Tim wanted to become a Pokémon trainer but he failed the Pokémon’s trainer test. He still remembers how to bond with Pokémon. The Detective Pikachu and Tim reluctantly team up as a duo and search for clues to find Tim’s dad. The duo soon discover a devious plot that poses as a threat to the Pokémon universe.
Ryan Reynolds is playing the role of Pikachu. The boy is played by Justice Smith. The movie is scheduled to release in May 10, 2019 by Warner Bros. Pictures. There are mixed reactions to this movie, some think that the visual aesthetics and the tone of the movie are bad, but others disagree. Most people like it cartoony, like the classic show. The movie trailer review on imbd.com is 6.7/10. Let’s hope that the movie is better than the reviews!
