The Cherry Blossom Festival is “one of California’s most prominent celebrations of Asian traditions and the biggest on the West coast.” For more specific info: https://sfcherryblossom.org/. The festival is a week and 2 day festival. The event is happening in Japantown, Nihonmachi on April 13-21.

“Cherry Blossom Festival is the one time every year where people get together to hang out with friends and family, where they share about stuff like anime, manga, culture and etc. They can learn more about the culture with the many different foods, style of clothing, books, history, and the people who help in this festival to afford to us. You may even see some people dress up in cosplay to make people happy because they found out other people who also like the anime manga, video game, or cartoon. In the Cherry Blossom festival is a time where we put our differences aside and all get together to enjoy something we all love.”(Chen, Rachel).

This festival is one of SF’s most cheerful events of the year. You should join the fun, there is  going to be a cosplay parade, contest you can enter, and live shows. The food is amazing and there might be a chance you can meet someone famous. There are also anime stands for keychains, posters, drawings or drawing requests. It’s super fun.
