Is In-n’-Out Overrated?

By: Samson Xu and

Sammi Huang

Not Overrated- (Samson Xu) I believe In-n-Out is an overrated fast food chain.  It is exclusive in some places, which make tourists want to try the food chain out.  The burger is cheap and delicious which brings people back for more. They have a ‘secret menu’ that could bring many visitors to their restaurant. They serve fresh food and there are no chemicals in the burgers and fries. Everyone is always lining up for In-n-Out, everyone hypes this place up. (hype: extravagant or intensive publicity or promotion) From what I have experienced, after I ate one In-n-Out burger, I never wanted to eat McDonald's ever again.

Not Overrated- (Sammi Huang) In-n-out is seen as overrated or overhyped on social media but honestly, I don’t agree. In-n-Out’s inexpensive and delicious burgers bring all the customers in. If you were to look in from Fisherman’s Wharf’s famous In-n-Out, you will notice that there are many people and the line is out the door. Many people just find that In-n-Out is cheap and convenient so they go there pretty often. Majority of the customers are not there for the hype.

“In-n-Out isn’t overrated because their burgers are just really good and affordable so it’s super common for a lot of people to buy it.” - Layla Eustaquio Jones (8th grader)

“I think In-n-Out is overrated because their burgers aren’t that good either way. Many of their menu items are the same and they taste like any other fast food place.” -Fiona Fang (7th grader)
