You will be drawing from a large still life setup taking into account all that you knew and have learned about layering, shading with ink, intertwining ribbons, negative space, cylinders, and 1 & 2 point perspective. EXAMPLES
Step 1
Find the angle you will draw
Use your fingers to create a composition (boundaries for your drawing and where objects/lines/shapes/forms are placed in that space). Negative space (the shape of the air around objects) should be just as interesting as positive space (the actual objects that you can touch).
Step 2
Draw the still life using negative space. JUST THE SHAPES OF THE AIR
Remember the ribbon drawing? When you first filled in the black areas around the ribbons
Step 3
Inside the center shape that you drew, draw as much detail as possible into the objects.
Once Finished Decide where you will place a shape with area about 1/2 the size of the entire drawing. Inside that area you will render the still life objects realistically
Then make the area outside of the shape, the negative space, interesting as well. Remember not to put ANY detail into the objects in the outer area.
Make sure to balance the drawing
If the interior is in light pencil shading and the exterior is in black ink there will be an imbalance. Try to use similar values and mediums.
