Utilizing silhouettes, collaged background, and scale you will create a composition that relays the idea of relationships through color, shape, and line.

Use color, scale, and composition to create a visual narrative demonstrating space. This is a paper collage that is 9"x12".
Objectives
Understand how color can reinforce the idea of space
Understand how scale can be used to demonstrate space
Demonstrate how complex narratives can be created with little detail

Use color, scale, line, and composition to create a visual narrative demonstrating space. This is a work that is done over the top of a created ground (collage or not just white/color paper like a map) with a surface that includes silhouettes and repeated patterns of shapes to create relationships between the silhouettes that seem more abstract (not just people in the same space with an implied narrative).
Examples of Ways to Approach this idea:
Consider the dynamics of a friend group at lunch or table group in a class. Is there someone that speaks more or louder than others? Would you represent them as larger in scale or with a large shape? What would it look like if you drew a map of the figures and drew lines between them as they spoke to record the conversation?
Consider a narrative in a favorite book or movie. Who is the protagonist? What struggles with the other characters do they face? Who supports them? What miscommunications cause strife?
Consider yourself and your idea of self. (lower image) What are your different sides? Do you have strengths and weaknesses? Do you change throughout the day? Feel confidence more in one area than another? Have to "switch hats" as you accomplish your day? How have you evolved since 6th grade and where do you plan to evolve further?

Understand how scale can be used to demonstrate relationships
Demonstrate how complex narratives and/or ideas can be created with little detail
