CHECK OUT SOME INTEREST BOARDS TO GET SOME IDEAS
Step 1
Brainstorm how your topic could be demonstrated visually. Consider great book covers.
Create 6 thumbnail sketches of what the cover will look like as well as color placement.
Consider how colors relate to and accentuate your subject. Warm colors will come forward & create more emphasis while cool colors will recede in space.
Try a TRIAD
Decide which text and font you want to use. Remember to have all required elements like Title & your name
GET FEEDBACK - ask peers for critique, make any changes, and finalize your design
Step 2
DESIGN & CONSTRUCT
Figure out how large all elements will need to be on a letter size paper (8.5"x 11").
Type your text on a Google or Word Document. Remember that you can make the margins small.
Once you have the text set, cut the construction paper down to 8.5"x11" and print text. Remember that our printer only prints black text.
Make sure that you print the silhouettes that you would like to use the EXACT size you will be cutting them out of the color paper.
glue the images to the back of the color paper and cut them out.
Affix the silhouette elements to the cover.
Step 3
YOUR DESIGN MUST BE ORIGINAL - COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL RECEIVE NO CREDIT. YOU WILL HAVE TO TURN IN ALL OF YOUR REFERENCE MATERIAL, SO MAKE SURE THAT YOU COMBINE ELEMENTS IN AN ORIGINAL WAY.
