You have 4 concept options for your linocut project.
A thematic idea in Notan style (Needs to be a new design)
An image from a picture that you took utilizing counterchange
An image from a picture that you took using only lines that change directions
Create a Proposal (speak to Ms. Bailey) and then develop
2 Color Print
Narrative - Illustrate something from a book, poem or song
You will learn and need to demonstrate competency in:
Creation of a visually legible image
Edition of 5 Prints, including how to edition them (Edition numbering, signature, edition varie, title/dedication)
Technical printing of Black & White
additional options include Rainbow Roll-up, Chine Colle, Color Reduction, and Hand-Coloring
Your Sketchbook Planning will be graded and needs to include:
6 inspiration images - printed on 1 piece of paper and glued in sketchbook, you can gather on Pinterest or Google Doc - 1 Page - ANNOTATE what you like or don't like about that image
For Narrative - Written or Printed narrative
6 Thumbnail (small sketched out versions)
Then Get Critique on your Thumbnail Sketches (write in sketchbook)
2 Detailed versions (a bit larger and more detailed than Thumbnails)
FINALIZE your design - 1+ Page
This should be the same size as your linocut block and very clear as you will transfer this drawing to your linocut block
