Pigs Aplenty! Pigs Galore!

David McPhail presents a poetic look at what would happen if pigs took over your house. He has pigs aplenty, and just when he thinks he's had enough, MORE pigs appear to party and play. The silly situation is resolved and his temper cooled, though, when cleanup time comes and everyone helps. They all then rest their heads to have dreams of pigs galore.

One minute, the narrator of this cleverly rhyming romp is quietly reading. The next minute, pigs descend upon his house in every imaginable getup, by every available means, from every possible place--even "Pigs from France" and "Pigs just in their underpants." What results is lovable porcine mayhem and a pizza pig-out!

This is a fun book to teach phonemic awareness and phonics. Students can listen to the individual words or word parts and her similar words that have the same onset or rime.

A lesson on adjectives or prediction could be based off of this book. Also the moral lesson to respect others and their belongings is quite prevalent in this book as well; would be a good reference book if this may be a problem in the classroom.
