If You Take a Mouse to the Movies

Homework week one of two:

*Read the book to your child and ask complex questions.

p. 2 Where are the little boy and the mouse going?

p. 3 What happened when they go to the movies?

p. 5 What happened when the little boy gave the mouse some popcorn?

p. 8 What happended when the mouse saw a snowman in the neighbor's yard?

p. 10 What does the mouse do when he decides to build a fort?

p. 12 Once the fort is built, what does he want to do with the little boy?

p. 14 What does the mouse ask for when he curls up on the couch?

p. 16 What does the boy have to find when the mouse wants to listen to the carols?

p. 20 What does the boy have to get for the mouse to make ornaments?

p. 23 What does the mouse do when he is finished making the ornaments?

p. 29 What happened when the mouse realized the popcorn was missing from the

tree, and he asked the boy for some popcorn?

*A toy mouse is in your child's book bag so that s/he can also read the book to the

mouse.

*Draw a picture of a movie that your child watched with the toy mouse on the page

provided.

Homework week two of two:

*Make a snowflake out of the coffee filter provided.

*Hide your mouse in clear site and have someone else find it. If they get close, say,

"You are getting hot." If they are getting farther away, tell them, "You are getting

cold." When they do find the mouse have them tell you where it was using

prepositions of "front," "behind," "next to," "between," "on top," "under," "on,"

and "in." Switch and have someone else hide the mouse so that you can find it

and tell where it was hiding.
