Go to the Play Store and search for collector for arcgis. Download the application to your Android device.

Accessing your ArcGIS Online account in your device

On your mobile device, open the Collector for ArcGIS application and log in to www.arcgis.com, click Continue.

Sign in with the username and password that was provided to you at the beginning of this session.

You will see a list of web maps that have been shared with you. Tap once the Collector Exercise - Clemson University to open it. Do not click Download. This web map contains three datasets:

- Households

- Market

- Park

3. Collecting data on your collector app

Once you have opened the Collector Project, you will see this screen.

Click the + sign in the middle top (Android) section of your screen. This will allow you to create a new feature. You will see that there are three options available :

Android Devices:

- Records editors and timestamps

- User roles: update only, create, delete, and sync.

- Geospatial design: domains, types, and subtypes

- Participatory mapping with just a browser.

- Collection of points, lines, and polygons. Tracking mode.

How to Install

iOS Devices:

Go to the App Store and search for collector for arcgis. Download the application to your iphone or iOS tablet.

Collector is a free app that allows you to collect or update your geospatial data with any iOS or Android device directly into your ArcGIS Online account.

- Free trial or organizational account of ArcGIS Online

- Free download from App store (iOS) or Play Store (Androids): Collector for ArcGIS.

3.1 Collecting Household Data

Click on households from the options. You will be asked to fill out the information:

Step 2: For Happy with the quality of their water, click on the arrow to choose between Yes and No. Click Done.

Step 3: For Overall self-assessment for health: Click on the arrow to choosee between Good, Fair, or Poor. Click Done.

If you are indoors, a new screen warning you of Poor Location Accuracy appears. Click Settings and move the required accuracy to 100m and click OK.

Step 1: For Number of people in the household, type the number of persons you think it is (does not need to be accurate). Click Done.

Step 4: After this Click on the Map icon on the screen. This will take you to the map.

Step 5: Then Click on the Tick-mark

to submit the updates.

Updates can take a little bit of time to post, depending on your wireless connection. Make sure your edits are saved after each data point collected. To ensure that your latest update gets posted, close Collector and open it again. Navigate to your map and look for your edit.

When you click on your added new house, notice the pop-up window with all the information you entered.

3.2 Collecting Market Data

Click + again to add a new layer and click on Market layer. You will be asked to fill out the information.

Step 1: For Name of the market, type the name of the market you think it is. Click Done.

Step 2: For Type of the market, enter the type of the market you think it is.. Click Done.

Step 3: After this Click on the Map icon on the screen.

Step 4: Then Click Stream, after you click stream move along the perimeter of the market or any shop.

Step 5: Once you have completed the perimeter of the market i.e. you have reached the same point.

Then Click on the Pause button. This will stop streaming and you will see the area you covered in green.

Step 6: When you are done, click on the Tick-mark

. This will send updates.

3.3 Collecting Park Data

Click + again to add a new layer and click on Park layer. You will be asked to fill out the information.

If you are indoors, a new screen warning you of Poor Location Accuracy

appears. Click Settings and move the required accuracy to

100m and click OK.

Step 1: For Name , type the name of the park you think it is (does not need to be accurate). Click Done.

Step 2: For Condition: Click on the arrow to choose between Good, Fair, or Poor. Click Done.

Step 3: For Notes , type the information you think is important . Click Done.

Step 4: After this Click on the Map icon on the screen.

Step 5: Then Click Stream, after you click stream move along the perimeter of the park.

Step 6: Once you have completed the perimeter of the park i.e. you have reached the same point where you started

click on the Pause. This will stop streaming and you will see the area you covered in green.

Step 7: When you are done, click on the Tick-mark

. This will send updates.

When you click on your added new park, notice the pop-up window has the attachment, but t

he photo is not visible. You can change this later on the map view in ArcGIS.com, selecting Configure pop-up and making sure linked attributes are visible.

4. Viewing your data in ArcGIS Online

Note : To see all the updates and configure pop-up windows for each and every feature you added sign in to ArcGIS Online and log in using the idea and password provided to you by Palak and Patricia.

Step1 : Log in to ArcGIS Online

Step2: Click on Groups on the top of the page.

Step 3: Then Click on DR Collector Project.

Step 4: Once you have DR Collector Project, you will see a Collector Project , Click on the inversed arrow

next to Open and choose "Open in Map viewer".

Step 5: Now you will see the data you collected using your phone app on your desktop.

Step 6: Tap on any household or park or market that you added before to see the pop-up window.
