Collector for ArcGIS for Dominican Republic

To check whether the map got downloaded on your device:

Go to the Play Store and search for collector for arcgis. Download the application to your Android device.

Accessing your ArcGIS Online account in your device

On your mobile device, open the Collector for ArcGIS application and log in to www.arcgis.com, click Continue.

Sign in with the username and password that was provided to you at the beginning of this session.

You will see a list of web maps that have been shared with you. Tap once on the Las Malvinas Survey to open it . Do not click Download. This web map contains two datasets (Las Malvinas Survey Questions and Trash or Stagnant water) which will be surveyed

- Households

- Trash or Stagnant water

Collecting data offline

If you are in an area where you don't have service or a wireless Internet connection, you can download your map to your phone and collect data.

To do download map using Collector follow the following instructions and make sure you have network connection:

1. Go to your map (Las Malvinas DR Project Survey ) and click the Cloud button to download the map.

2. It will ask you to select your work area and map detail.

- For Map Detail: Zoom in to the extent where you can see atleast one full zone.

- For Work Area: Make sure you select your whole Las Malvinas Survey area.

Once you have set up your work area and map detail. Click on the Download button on the right hand corner of the window.

The map will start downloading to your cellphone locally. Once you have the map downloaded in your phone, you will see that you are only able to see the Las Malvinas area and not the whole basemap on your phone and that's because when you download a map on your phone it downloads it as an image.

Android Devices:

How to Install

iOS Devices:

Go to the App Store and search for collector for arcgis. Download the application to your iphone or iOS tablet.

Collector is a free app that allows you to collect or update your geospatial data with any iOS or Android device directly into your ArcGIS Online account.

Requirements

- Free trial or organizational account of ArcGIS Online

- Free download from App store (iOS) or Play Store (Androids): Collector for ArcGIS.

1. Go to the Collector Application and you will be able to see the downloaded map.

2. Open the map and try zooming in and out.

Collecting data on your collector app

- Households

The Las Malvinas Survey dataset has been designed in a way that all collaborators can create, update, and delete new features. To create your first household, zoom into the area.

Click the + sign in the middle top (iOS) or bottom (Android) section of your screen. This will allow you to create a new feature and then choose Las Malvinas Survey Questions layer.

If you are indoors, a new screen warning you of Poor Location Accuracy appears. Click Settings and move the required accuracy to 100m and click OK.

- For 1a. ¿Los talentos personales (Primero)?, Click on the arrow to choose between the options given and this is going to be the primary choice. Click Done or press Enter.

- For 1b. ¿Los talentos personales (Secundario)?, Click on the arrow to choose between the options given and this is going to

be the secondary choice. Click Done or press Enter. - For 2a. ¿Las habilidades aprendidas (Primero)?, Click on the arrow to choose between the options given and this is going to be the primary choice. Click Done or press Enter.- For 2b. ¿Las habilidades aprendidas (Secundario)?, Click on the arrow to choose between the options given and this is going to be the secondary choice. Click Done or press Enter.- For 3a. ¿Esperanzas o aspiraciones (Primero)?, Click on the arrow to choose between the options given and this is going to be the primary choice. Click Done or press Enter.- For 3b. ¿Esperanzas o aspiraciones (Secundario)? Click on the arrow to choose between the options given and this is going to be the secondary choice. Click Done or press Enter.- For 19. ¿Los niños no vacunados?, Please enter the number between 0 and 9. Click Done or press Enter.- For 22. ¿Diagnosticado con sarampión?, Please enter the number between 0 and 9. Click Done or press Enter.

So, this how to set values for each question asked in the survey. Please Answer all the questions asked in the survey.

- If you are using an Android tablet, a new window appears asking you to validate the location. Click Go to map. The program will take you back to the map where you can drag the location of the tree to the exact place you want it.

- If you are using an iphone, click the Map icon at the top center on your screen.

When you are done, click Submit (on iphones) or Done (on Android tablets). This will send updates and post the attachments to the collective map.

Updates can take a little bit of time to post, depending on your wireless connection. Make sure your edits are saved after each data point collected. To ensure that your latest update gets posted, close Collector and open it again. Navigate to your map and look for your edit.

When you click on your added new household, notice the pop-up window has the attachment, but the photo is not visible. You can change this later on the map view in ArcGIS.com, selecting Configure pop-up and making sure linked attributes are visible.

- Trash Or Stagnant Water

The trash or stagnant water dataset has been designed in a way that all collaborators can create, update, and delete new features. To create your first point, zoom into the area.

Click the + sign in the middle top (iOS) or bottom (Android) section of your screen. This will allow you to create a new feature and then choose Trash or Stagnant Water layer.

After you press Done, Click on Camera icon and then choose Take photo or video. Click Done.

If you are indoors, a new screen warning you of Poor Location Accuracy appears. Click Settings and move the required accuracy to 100m and click OK.

- For ¿tipo?, Click on the arrow to choose between the options given (Basura or Aqua estancada). Click Done or press Enter.

When you are done, click Submit (on iphones) or Done (on Android tablets). This will send updates and post the attachments to the collective map.

Updates can take a little bit of time to post, depending on your wireless connection. Make sure your edits are saved after each data point collected. To ensure that your latest update gets posted, close Collector and open it again. Navigate to your map and look for your edit.

Syncing your data on the cloud using collector app

Once you have collected your data and you come back to a location where you have network connection.

- Open the Collector app.

- Click on the cloud and it will start syncing. All the data points you collected will get uploaded to the ArcGIS Online cloud.
