Welcome to the Introduction to Tableau training workshop. Our goals for this workshop are:
- Becoming familiar with Tableau's user interface
- How to work with data columns
- How to make basic charts
- Creating dashboards
- Understanding interactive features
- Publishing your visualizations to Tableau Public
The two datasets used in this workshop were provided by DHEC and the Washington Post, and are published at the bottom of this page:
- County-Level Information. Contains data for each County in SC regarding opioids deaths, prescriptions, and infectious disease.
- WaPo SC opioid distribution data. Contains data at the State level by age group and gender.

In this session we want to explore, analyze, and visualize trends in opioid overdose deaths. We also want to look at geographic distributions and relationships with other variables such as opioids prescriptions.
