This is a 3 hours hands-on workshop where you can learn skills in using tabular data in GIS. GIS data
consists of geographic objects in a map, each one linked to a row in a table that describes their features. In this workshop we will explore simple capabilities such as selection by attribute or location and table joins, that allow GIS researchers to conduct complex spatial analysis. After this workshop you will be able to:
Make queries to select out features based on certain criteria
Summarize information based on categories
Pass information from one dataset to another based on a common field (Join)
Geocode tabular data based on descriptive geographic fields such addresses or zip codes.
This workshop is the third in our series for obtaining our Certificate of Attendance.
