Field Data Collection Fall 2021

Whether collecting data for conservation purposes or surveying households for a health survey, location is often a critical attribute to collect. ArcGIS has 3 field data collection apps that are free to download and install in your mobile device. All of them are easy to set up, intuitive, and flexible for effective data collection on the field.

The following apps will be covered during this workshop:

- ArcGIS QuickCapture. Button-centric, best suited for data collectors not familiar with GIS. Cannot be shared outside Clemson.

- Survey 123. Form-centric, very easy to set up. Can be shared outside Clemson (allows for public data capture). Can edit only one feature layer per form. Allows editing of previously captured data.

- ArcGIS Field Maps. GIS-centric, best for GIS operations. Cannot be shared outside Clemson. Allows editing of previously captured data.

All three apps run on iOS and Android.
