Pinwheel Discussions

  1. Place discussion prompts or questions at 3 - 5 locations around the room.
  2. Assign small groups of students to each prompt, and elect a recorder and reporter for the group.
  3. In small groups, the students will discuss the prompt / question.
  4. The recorder will write down the most important points from the group's discussion on sticky notes and place those sticky notes on a table in the center of the room.
  5. Groups will then rotate to the next question / prompt, and continue to discuss and record the most important points from the discussion.
  6. Once all questions / prompts have been visited. The reporter for the groups will review the most important point sticky notes with the team, and move back to the center of the room to share the team's thoughts with the whole group.
