Key Concepts / Key Ideas

  1. Form partner groups.
  2. Assign the reading materials.
  3. Provide time for individuals to read the materials and highlight or record key concepts and ideas.
  4. When both partners have finished reading all the materials, they will take turns sharing and discussing the concepts and ideas they have identified.

Tips

  • For larger amounts of reading materials it may be necessary to have participants read sections of the material then stop and share their concepts and ideas.
  • For digital reading materials, it might be beneficial to use web highlighting or annotation tools to record the key concepts and ideas.
