Just Like Me

Just Like Me

This is a transition activity that is also a good community-building activity to use in your classroom.

  • During this activity, the teacher will read the following list of “Just Like Me” statements. Direct students to stand if the statement made by the teacher is true for them. Students who stand should look around the room to identify which of their classmates are standing. People standing have a shared experience.
  • After students who are standing have had an opportunity to identify classmates with similar experiences, direct all students to sit.
  • The teacher continues the same process for the remaining list of “Just Like Me” statements.
