Jigsaw

1. Form home teams of 3 to 5 students.
2. Have home team members select a role within the group. (Roles are pre-determined by the teacher.)
3. Direct members with like roles from each team to form expert groups of 3 to 5 members.
4. Provide time for expert teams to work cooperatively acquiring and learning information related to their role.
5. Allot time for expert teams to develop a method for sharing what they learned with their home team.
6. Ask experts to return to their home teams and take turns sharing the information they learned. Each team's information is required for the home team to complete the cooperative task.
