SO.7.1 - Describe the functions of the 3 Branches of Government and major Supreme Court Cases involving the Bill of Rights.
SO.7.2 - Analyze how the constitution and the Bill of rights limit the role of government and protects Individual rights. Describe the amendment process and identify the 27 amendments.
SO.7.3 - Create and use various types of maps. Incorporate map “TODALSS” into all maps.
SO.7.4 - Analyze the process of U.S. expansion Westward, including effects on Native Americans, and it’s industrial transformations that led to the Industrial Revolution.
SO.7.5 - Identify and analyze the debate over slavery, states rights, and the political compromises leading towards Civil War.
SO.7.6 - Outline the political and military events of the Civil War; analyze the aftermath of the war and it’s effects on Northern & Southern citizens, including free blacks, women and former slaveholders.
SO.7.7 - Explain the impact the Industrial Revolution had on the U.S. , compare and contrast reform movements at the turn of the century and analyze the results of economic transformation on immigration, politics, and public policy.
SO.7.8 - Evaluate the changing role of the U.S. regarding it’s neighboring regions and expanding sphere of influence around the world.
SO.7.9 - Outline the causes and conduct of WW1 including nations involved, political and military figures, and battles. Identify the political impact of WW1, including the league of nations, and the renewed U.S. isolationism.
SO.7.10 - Evaluate the causes of the Great Depression and analyze the impact of the New Deal on U.S. society, including ethnic and racial minorities.
SO.7.11 - Outline the causes and conduct of WW2, including nations involved, political and military figures, key battles, and the Holocaust.
SO.7.12 - Identify military and non-military actions taken by the U.S. during the Cold War to resist the spread of communism.
SO.7.13 - Analyze the economic boom and social transformation experienced by post war U.S. leading to the Cold War and the impact it had on U.S. domestic and international politics.
SO.7.14 - Describe how social movements and new technologies changed the relations between the U.S. and foreign countries in the initial years of the 21st Century.
