Essential Learner Outcomes
RLAE.AWCN.1 - The student engages the audience, and demonstrates a basic familiarity with audience and purpose appropriate for the particular discipline and/or genre for which the student is writing.
RLAE AWCN.2 -The student’s writing is clear and focused; reader can easily understand the main idea (e.g., thesis, hypothesis, research question, etc.); supporting details are suitable to audience and purpose; material drawn from external sources is incorporated into the text.
RLAE.AWCN.3 - The student’s organization is clear and coherent; order and structure are present; clear sequencing and paragraphing; developed introduction and conclusion.
RLAE.AWCN.4 - The student implements a style appropriate for the rhetorical context and the language choices suit the audience
RLAE.AWCN.5 - The student’s writing demonstrates a basic understanding Standard Written English in a manner that is sensitive to genre and rhetorical situation.
RLAE.AWCN.6 - Any material student draws from a source is properly documented and cited.
