Essential Learner Outcomes
RLAE.APLANG.1 - The student will write analyses essays demonstrating a familiarity of assigned nonfiction literature and the impact on the audience because of the tone, purpose, and rhetorical devices of the pieces.
RLAE APLANG.2 -The student will write a clear and focused main idea (e.g., thesis, hypothesis, research question, etc.) with supporting details that are suitable to audience and purpose incorporating material drawn from external sources when necessary and appropriate.
RLAE.APLANG.3 - The student will write using clear and coherent organization, order and structure, sequencing and paragraphing with developed introductions and conclusions.
RLAE.APLANG.4 - The student will implement rhetorical analysis and write an analysis that displays why rhetorical devices are incorporated in literature.
RLAE.APLANG.5 - The student will analyze persuasive nonfiction literature and the importance of persuading using ethos, logos, pathos and not using fallacies.
RLAE.APLANG.6 - The student will compose an analysis of a controversial topic incorporating supplemental sources to support his/her opinion and properly condense sources as support.
