Dire Straits

a state of extreme distress

Thank you DEC. The government gives me free access to this Archer Vly pond area. We can boat, hike, camp out for free. Some private citizens have allowed access here 30 miles north of home. And they pay me to do this. It's like money for nothing.

Sure, it's in the Lake Desolation area and as you drive up the mountain side it's like going into another world on the edge of the Adirondack Park. You might even see a moose or a bear here.

I shoulda learned to play the guitar. I shoulda learned to play them drums. With all the money I'd have made in a band I coulda traveled to beautiful places when not on tour.

Grafton Lakes State Park is free for a few weeks. Free kayak launch site. Did I mention the DEC gave me a lifetime fishing license.  I had to pay a few shekels but it's now free forever.

This little guy was teasing me. Swimming back and forth free and easy within close range watching me all the time. Quite humorous.

Too much fun. It was supposed to be a playground for kids but the adults got in the way. I thought it was a school bus but Lucas said no, it's a firetruck so we made some siren sounds. That ain't working that's the way you do it, get your kicks for free. Saratoga Park is free entry till May 6.

And your chicks for free. Shmaltz Brewery in Clifton Park gives us a free tour anytime we stop in and free samples of beer behind these 50 barrel fermenters. She'Brew double IPA is one of this year's concoctions. Will she brew? Maybe a retirement gig. We got to install them microwave ovens, custom delivery.

Ok, maybe I'm not in dire straits, but I know them when I see them. First video on MTV 1987. Whatever happened to MTV?
