Great location for a start - near the station and with the sound of nearby street musicians playing Peruvian music. Fifteen of the 4H faithful showed up, all with happy faces and shining eyes, a sublime start to a great day:

Pasoconti, Bisconti and Bitesize blew me away.

Always Open, Platinum Pork and Yuka Ueno helped to make my day.

Times Up, Desperado taking photos and Crusader blazing down the trail, Making it easier for Jellymouth, Santa Maria and Kim Will Run to follow.

And let’s not forget Cats Eyes and Ass Licker - always shy but good fun.

The trail followed some main streets and alleys leading down to the ocean and then cut back inland, following a highway up to some steep steps into the hills, with Santa Maria puffing and panting up and down a really beautiful mountain trail. It was quite breath-taking and with some wonderful sea views.

Near the highest point of the trail (Genjiyama), the Turkey trail headed east but the Eagle trail led north and down, towards Kita-Kamakura. At the main road the trail led right, along the main road for a short distance, before going into the hills again via the ancient ‘turtle’ and ‘samurai’ passes. At the crest of the hill the Eagle trail re-joined the Turkey trail. The run from there was all downhill, through Jufukuji shrine and winding through town to the on-in and finish, just south of Kamakura station.

The trail was much loved by all but marked as if flour and chalk were on ration. Thanks to additional markings by Crusader the route was made easier for many. Although a few did take a short cut, missing out on the beach.

The FRBs (usual suspects) were back in just over 1.5hrs and quickly got outside of several beers (it was a hot day). The circle was somewhat delayed while off-trail stragglers were rounded up and guided to the beer. Santa Maria was unanimously selected to run the circle, in the absence of both the DG and the DG’s Ass. The hare was roasted (again) for laying a trail with insufficient arrows. 70m intervals is inadequate, evidently… At 5.30 we headed for the on-on-on.

So far as the Turkish Kitchen is concerned the less said the better. A little expensive with minimal portions and the food was bland and on the dry side, I doubt anyone will visit there again even privately.

Santa Maria is sorry he made a mistake when announcing to the circle the date of the next hash: it will be on July 8th. On July 29th, Santa Maria and Kim Will Run look forward to seeing everyone at their wedding anniversary run, starting near Yokohama Baystars Stadium at 3 pm. Free T-shirts to all who attend the on-on-on wedding anniversary party afterwards
