次回は花火ハッシュです。ランあとに土浦の花火大会を見ます。

場所：土浦駅（茨木県）

Date: 3rd October (Saturday)

Time: 15.00 (run)

18.00 – 20.30 (fireworks)

Place: Arrows from the West Exit of Tsuchiura station on the Joban Line. Exit right from the ticket barrier, and follow the arrows to the assembly point. We will gather as close to the station as we can. We will then walk as a group to a viewing point on the Sakura river, from where the run will start. The course to the start will be marked as usual for the benefit of latecomers, but bear in mind that there will be heavy footfall, so that the arrows may fade quickly. Details of trains from Ueno are set out below.

13.09 - 14.06 (Tokubetsu Kaisoku): platform 6 (Also leaves Shinagawa at 12.53 from platform 11)

13.12 – 14.23 (Futsu): platform 10

13.30 – 14.12 (Tokiwa No. 63): platform 8 (Also leaves Shinagawa at 13.14 from platform 9) (N.B. Tokkyu - rich bastards only!)

13.32 – 14.44 (Futsu): platform 6 (Also leaves Shinagawa at 13.16 from platform 10)

13.52 – 14.58 (Futsu): Platform 10

14.09 – 15.07 (Tokubetsu Kaisoku): Platform 6 (Also leaves from Shinagawa at 13.53 from platform 11) (We might wait for you!)

The single fare from Ueno to Tsuichura is JPY1140. If you aren’t using a Suica card you are strongly advised to buy your return ticket upon arrival at Tsuchiura, rather than upon departure. For anyone travelling to Tsuchiura from Tokyo, Kanagawa or Saitama a kyujitsu odekake pass might be a good idea: It costs JPY2670 and gives virtually unlimited one day basic travel (i.e. not shinkansen or tokkyu) on JR between Odawara and Tsuchiura.

One word of caution: at the moment the forecast for next Saturday looks fair, but there is the possibility of a postponement of the festival if bad weather is threatened. A final announcement will be made by the organizers on Friday at 9.00am. If the festival is postponed we will NOT run on the Saturday, and I will make alternative arrangements for the October run. If there is to be any change to the schedule I will announce it on the H4 Facebook page before 12.00 noon on Friday, 2nd October.
