If a patient calls to schedule an MRI, send to Verisma Auth ext 4455
If a patient calls to cancel or change their appointment, ask which location were they having their MRI and send to correct location ext.
If a patient calls and wants an MRI done at VSON but DOES NOT have an order or referral from a VSON provider, send to Radiology Supervisor ext 4578
If a patient is calling to check on status of auth, send to Verisma ext 4455
If a patient calls regarding them doing their MRI at another facility and the facility has not received the MRI request, send to Verisma ext 4455
If a patient calls regarding wanting to do an MRI with VSON from their PCP or another doctor, send to Radiology Supervisor ext 4578
If a work comp patient calls to check on auth send to Referrals line or if she is unavailable Radiology Supervisor ext 4578
When calls come in from patients wanting to know if images have been received, send a "Teams" message to MRI/FD and the Radiology team will check and see if the images are in our system. The "Teams" message should always begin with the patient name and DOB and then add specific information that can help our team look for the images.
When patients in office ask about getting copies of their medical records, direct them to the Front Desk so they can begin the ROI process.
When patients ask about getting a CD, please inform patient that we are moving away from CD's and that the imaging can be shared electronically via email from Powershare (medical location) or Efferent (for patients). If they insist on a CD, please inform them that we now charging for CD's $6.50.
Imaging will be shared by ROI.
When calls come in from a providers office requesting images to be sent via Powershare to another facility, send to ROI.
When patients ask for imaging through Efferent, patients will receive a link via SMART share. The patient will NOT be able to share that link with another person. The patient will be able to download the images on a CD or to a zip package.
Tips to ask patients about imaging:
Did the patient have imaging done at VSON?
Did a request for imaging come through Powershare?
Did the patients need to fill out ROI form?
Encourage all patients to receive imaging electronically
