The Rancher wrangles Animals from the wild and places them in animal pens. Once there, the Rancher will feed them crops and seeds that they gather from the Storage building.

Animals within the Rancher Pens have their own individual hunger levels from 1 to 100 that goes down over time. If not fed, they will eventually die. Luckily, the Rancher will feed animals in the pens if there is food available. All Animals eat the same foods as in vanilla Minecraft. The Rancher will prioritize feeding the most hungry animals first. A Rancher will not feed an Animal if it is above 75 Hunger. The time it takes to feed an Animal is dependent on the Rancher's skill level.
If the Animal pen is not full the fed animals may enter 'heart mode' just like vanilla and can breed with other animals in the same pen.

Deliver to Storage
Deliver to Storage
The Rancher will deliver wool, milk, feathers and eggs to the Storage building.
Return Lost Animals
Return Lost Animals
The Rancher will collect lost Animals and return them to their pen with a lead. The Rancher will ignore animals that the Butcher has collected for slaughter.

If the Rancher has shears they will use them to collect wool from the sheep.
If they have a bucket, they will use it to milk a cow. There is a 5-minute cooldown before the Rancher can collect milk from the same cow.
The rancher will stop gathering milk once there are 4+ milk buckets in storage.
They will also collect eggs.
