requirements
Each Animal type (sheep, cows, pigs, chickens) require a separate pen.
The pens have a separate structure token (purchased from the Architect) and should be placed next to or above a fence gate.
Unlike ordinary structures, Rancher Pens do not need a roof and use a fence gate instead of a door.
uses
The Rancher tends to the animals in the pens, feeding them when they are hungry, shearing sheep, milking cows, and gathering chicken eggs.
Animals do not lose hunger at night.
MECHANICS
Each animal type has a 'size' unrelated to their bounding box:
- Pigs: 3
- Sheep: 3
- Cows: 3
- Chickens: 1
To be considered full, the number of animals in the pen must be greater than the number of floor space inside the pen divided by the animal size.
If your pen has 10 floor spaces, it would be considered full with:
- 4 pigs, sheep, or cows ( 10 / 3 = 3)
- 11 chickens ( 10 / 1 = 10)
If the animals in the pens are fed with villager items, their babies will be villager animals. You can tell if your animals are villager animals because they will glow when you enter the pen.
