The Bard helps increase the happiness of villagers by entertaining them with music.
Behavior
The Bard can perform his music in two places:
Perform in the Village
During the day the Bard will wander town looking for villagers that are unhappy. When one is encountered they will begin playing a short tune for those nearby to hear.
Every 2 seconds during the song, every villager within 16 blocks has a 1/8 chance of gaining 1 happy point.
When the song completes, every villager within 16 blocks has a 1/2 chance of gaining 2-3 happy points.
The bard will also gain happiness equal to the total amount of happiness that was given to others. If 3 or less happiness was given from the song, the bard will instead lose 5 happiness.
Perform in the Tavern at Night
During the evenings, the Bard gives their best performances in the Tavern. If more than 2 villagers are present the Bard will play a longer song, significantly raising the happiness of all villagers inside the Tavern.
Every 2 seconds during the song, every villager within the Tavern has a 1/16 chance to gain 1-3 happiness.
When the song completes, every villager within the Tavern has a 1/2 chance of gaining 3-5 happiness.
The Bard will also gain happiness themselves equal to 1/2 the amount of total happiness given from the song. If 8 or less happiness was given from the song, the bard will instead lose 5 happiness.
Only one Bard will perform in a Tavern at a time.
If a village has multiple taverns, each Bard will seek out their own Tavern to perform in.
