Springfield ICT
In 2025, the Springfield ICT Department continued to bring our vision of “Transformative Teaching and Learning Experiences, Future-Ready Learners and Innovators” to life. The department supports teachers in using tools like ClassPoint, Kahoot, Quizizz and many more to deliver interactive and engaging lessons.
Behind the scenes, the ICT team ensures smooth connections, maintains PLDs, and provides guidance on using technology effectively. With this support, lessons run seamlessly, allowing students to focus on learning and grow into confident, responsible, and future-ready digital learners.
In February 2025, our Secondary 1 students received their Chromebook PLDs, marking an exciting step in digital learning. The PLD help students organise their work, complete assignments on the go, and collaborate with classmates online. Teachers guided students on how to use PLDs safely and responsibly, including managing screen time, following the Acceptable Use Policy, and staying productive. With PLDs in hand, learning is now more flexible, personalised, and connected.
In 2025, our Sec 1 and Sec 2 students continued building strong digital skills through the Code for Fun and AI for Fun programmes.
Sec 1 students learnt the basics of coding and computational thinking using block-based programming and micro:bits. They created small projects that encouraged problem-solving and explored how technology can support sustainable living.
Sec 2 students moved on to learn about AI, Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs). They explored data quality, bias, ethics, and the impact of AI on society. Through hands-on tasks like chatbots and image generation, students practised effective prompting, evaluated AI content responsibly, and worked in teams to design AI ideas that could help solve real-world challenges.
Together, these programmes helped students see how coding and AI can be used creatively and responsibly to make a positive impact.
In 2025, some of our Sec 3 and Sec 4 students participated in the year-long Youth Digital Citizenship Programme (YDCP), conducted in collaboration with Temasek Polytechnic. The programme brought together students from Springfield and other secondary schools, creating a lively learning community where they could collaborate and exchange ideas.
Throughout the year, students explored data analytics, learning how to interpret and use data meaningfully. They also picked up website design skills, applying creativity and technical know-how to develop webpages that showcased their ideas. The programme concluded with group presentations, where students shared their learning and demonstrated how digital skills can be applied to real-world projects.
2025 was a year of growth, exploration, and innovation for Springfield students. From coding and AI to data analytics and digital citizenship, our programmes empowered students to learn actively and think creatively. With strong support from our teachers and the ICT team, Springfield continues to nurture future-ready learners who are confident, responsible, and well-equipped for an increasingly digital world.
